Ada, a newcomer to pageantry, developed an interest in the Miss Black USA Foundation based on her passions
which align with the organization’s mission. The strength of the Miss Black USA mission is to aggressively
dissipate stereotypes that narrowly define achievement and beauty, and to produce women who are self-
disciplined, strong, empowered, educated, and who believe in serving as examples to other women of color.
Established in 1986, the Miss Black USA Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization which emphasizes academic
achievement, talent, health & fitness, and community activism.  The Miss Black USA Foundation celebrates
scholastic achievement in all disciplines and believes that education is the key to lifelong success. Ada hopes
that in joining the Miss Black USA family she will achieve growth in personal and professional development.  For

ADA and A.D.A.

The 2007 Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant is collaborating with the American Diabetes Association (A.D.A.)
to promote awareness on diabetes, a serious condition that affects many people in Arizona, the United States,
and the rest of the world.  Your Miss Black Arizona USA 2006-2007, Ada Dieke, also supports diabetes awareness
especially with children as she has helped coordinate a Defeating Diabetes Through Dance and Diet program in
Tucson, Arizona at Challenger Middle School with the help of school counselors Sagrario Espinosa and Maritza
Garlant-Molin.   You can read more about the A.D.A. at
